Trojan
They made a
Trojan,
A gift, a
boon,
Small,
handheld
Portable,
always there
We feed on
it
But we are
the ones being fed
Instant
adoration
Perfect,
tailored products
Propaganda,
outrage
Dreams and
bragging rights
But it is
no connector
It is a
sharp wedge, an insulator, divider and conqueror
Prying and
vying for our attention
Driven by the
need for consumer retention
Unfettered,
raw corporate greed
A dark,
racing steed
It strives
for singularity
And erasure
of our individuality
The
cyberterrorist plot
Ties our neural
networks in a knot
And into
the soft and tender flesh
The leech
makes its nest,
Plugs in,
bites down with blue teeth.
Hijacks our
myelin sheaths.
We lose control
and intertwine
Unwittingly
combine
Into an insidious
asymmetry
Into a harnessing
of our minds and our thoughts.
No prayers
will save us
As the
techno-oligarch bosses enslave us.
We used the
cow for our beurre blanc sauces
Our buttered
bread, our brie
And ironically,
or perhaps inevitably
We are
the cow,
What is
ours – systematically stolen
We are
For infinite
hours
Jacked up
and systematically strapped in
And every. Last.
Drop
Will be
sucked dry.
So switch
off
